On Monday October 17 Giant launched their WebLink online sales platform. SmartEtailing provides a mechanism to help authorized Giant retailers fully participate in this exciting program.

In order to meet the demands of today's consumers, Giant's WebLink allows consumers to purchase bikes and gear directly on the Giant and Liv Bicycles websites. This is a huge improvement over the Where to Buy functionality that was previously available on Giant's website because it allows more retailers to participate, even those without an e-commerce solution of their own, and it allows the consumer a quicker and easier transaction.

What's the difference between Where to Buy and WebLink?
In early 2016 Giant introduced Where to Buy, which allowed retailers to show availability of product on Giant's website and then directed consumers to the retailer's site where the transaction would be carried out, assuming the retailer had an online catalog and shopping cart functionality. Giant's new WebLink program represents a significant enhancement by enabling the consumer to complete the transaction within the Giant or Liv websites. WebLink puts a list of stocking retailers at the forefront of the consumer experience right on the product page, helping retailers to sell product they already have on the floor directly off of Giant's website.

How does WebLink work?
When a consumer is browsing on the Giant or Liv Bicycles websites, a participating retailer's inventory availability is presented to consumers, via SmartEtailing's POS Sync or Buy Local Now functionality, allowing consumers to select stocking dealers as the fulfillment store for quicker pickup of the bike or gear. If there are no stocking local retailers, the consumer will still pick which local retailer they wish to be the fulfillment store. In either case, Giant will manage the transaction and notify the retailer of the sale.
